29 weeks

Baby is the size of an acorn squash. He is getting so big that things are getting a little cramped in there, but he will still triple in weight before birth. Um, omg. I can’t even imagine what that will be like. Let’s take a look back at last time I wore this outfit, which was at 21 weeks.

Ha! I looked so tiny just 8 weeks ago. I now get regular comments from strangers on a daily basis (all nice so far :-). Lots of updates this week, none of them exercise related. I believe I made it to the pool once last week, and went for one walk which resulted in an entire night of horrible SI pain. So, no more walking. I may give it another shot with the support belt and see what happens, because I do miss getting out for some fresh air.

Overall I am feeling pretty good, in fact my back pain has been a little better (except for the fateful walking day), which I can only attribute to less exercise. It’s tough because my job is so physical, some days I do 6+ hours of massage which is exhausting. I am still sleeping ok (not great), waking up a lot to shift positions, but surprisingly I very rarely ever have to get up to pee. Less than once a week I would say, and I am hoping I didn’t just jinx that situation. I did have to take a nap four days in a row last week in the afternoons. I would just hit a wall and there was no way I could do anything but sit down on the couch and close my eyes for a while. I have also noticed that I am not usually very hungry any more in general, but when I do get hungry, it is instantly and urgently. There is no in between, no “kinda hungry,” or “maybe I could eat a little something.” I will get suddenly ravenous, and need to eat immediately. Of course I can’t eat that much before I am full again, so it’s a vicious cycle.

In other news, we settled on a name for baby boy (!!!). I will not be sharing it here until he arrives, but I am super excited about it, seeing as it is the name I have been secretly calling him in my head for the last couple months :). Steve finally approved it officially and now I can order my custom wall decals for the nursery. Speaking of the nursery, lots of work going on in there too. My aunt came over one day last week to help me paint the blue wall, and I am in love with it.

Not the best lighting in this photo, but it is a brilliant underwater blue. I painted the wooden diaper pail to match, and also the dresser, which conveniently came from my mom’s basement. In other words, free! Here’s the dresser before painting:

And currently:

I removed the black drawer pulls, filled the holes, and will be replacing them with something awesome that I ordered on etsy. Can you stand the suspense? The crib has been ordered and should arrive by the end of the week, then the room will really start to come together. One more thing to show you. I found some decorative pieces at TJ Maxx and Marshall’s, and this is my favorite find so far:

It is so weirdly awesome I just love it.

I can’t believe that next week I will be 30 weeks. Crazy.

Laura- I wore a pregnancy support belt when I did my daily exercise walking during my third trimester and it helped tremendously! Its felt like someone was standing behind me and lifting up on the baby. It relieves a lot of the weight and stress on the back. You look great 🙂

Love, love, love the dresser AND the rug. GREAT work, mama!

Your bump is seriously the cutest. So exciting to have a name and call him by it, and I can’t believe you are getting ready to meet your son soon!! What a special time. Excited for you, lady!!
